Automotive

Materalia accompanies the regional automotive sector through the current inevitable changes. The Vehicle of the Future Cluster is the Automobile SBA's main partner.

The Automotive market is still important in terms of innovation for the companies in the cluster's scope.
To remain competitive, this market must respond to major challenges such as :

  • carrying out major work on reducing the weight of various vehicle parts, reducing environmental impact by decreasing CO2 emissions by 25%,
  • contributing to the European objectives of upgrading cars, controlling production costs and optimising manufacturing processes, maintaining a skills pool and training operators.

THE CHALLENGES FOR COMPANIES IN MATERALIA'S SCOPE

The companies in the cluster's scope mainly serve the automotive market and must find materials-processes-products solutions that meet the major challenges of this sector. Moreover, there is a high concentration of subcontractors in this sector, and the challenge for them is to control and develop subsystems and no longer simply manufacture components for them.

ACTION TAKEN BY THE CLUSTER TO MEET THE MANUFACTURERS' NEEDS :
  • Ensuring the creation and set up of research and development projects for companies in the sector in the Greater East region.
  • Ensuring the coordination of the sector in partnership with the ARIAs.
  • Identifying training needs and implementing training activities in partnership with secondary and higher education institutions.
